BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THREE individuals were recently arrested and charged with the murders of Desroy ‘Shootout’ Walwyn and Travon ‘Waxy’ Francis.

Reports reaching SKNVibes are that earlier this afternoon, twin brothers Torday and Torquel Burroughs (20) of Cunningham Village, Cayon and Akil Anthony (19) of the same address were formally charged with the murders that took place in the wee hours of Sunday, November 30.

The lives of Walwyn and Francis were snuffed out during a shooting incident in the vicinity of Henry’s Night Spot, Cayon.

Information reaching this media house indicated that two masked gunmen in dark clothing shot and killed Walwyn and Francis and injured six others during the process.

An informed source told SKNVibes that since the incident nine individuals were taken into police custody and were assisting with investigations.

The three men, who are now charged, were taken into police custody on Friday morning and were also said to have been assisting with investigations.

Another individual, according to sources, is assisting police with the investigations.

This media house has endeavoured to ascertain whether or not it is likely that other individuals would be charged with the offence, and was told that more arrests may follow depending on the result of further investigations.

The Burroughs brothers and Anthony are expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, after which they will be remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

Meanwhile, Desroy ‘Shootout’ Walwyn’s memorial service is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Tuesday) and Travon ‘Waxy’ Francis’ on the following day at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Cayon.

The two men’s death brings to 22 the total number of homicides committed in the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis for the year.
