Man wounded in brawl near National Museum

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – OVER the weekend members of the Police Force were busy investigating incidents ranging from traffic accidents to criminal activities, and among the latter was the wounding of a young man in downtown Basseterre.

At about 4:45 p.m. on Friday (Jul. 26), a young man, whose name was given as Vince Bridgewater, suffered a wound to his forehead and, maybe, other parts of his body, whilst in the vicinity of the National Musum in Basseterre.

Bridgewater was observed by this media house walking along the sidewalk on Fort Street heading in a northerly direction holding a piece of garment to the right of his forehead, from which blood was gushing.

His green vest was awash with blood to the front, but it was not known if that was caused by additional wounds to the chest area or that of his forehead.

Two police officers were in the area at the time and they took the wounded Bridgewater to the Joseph N France General Hospital in a squad car that was parked on Liverpool Row.

This media house learned that Bridgewater had an altercation with another man who allegedly used a sharp instrument to inflict the wound or wounds on his person.

A release from the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Lyndon David, indicated that "Bridgewater and Rohan Hamilton of St. Paul's Village had an altercation which resulted in both men received wounds to their bodies, and were taken to the hospital".

The release also indicated that one of the men is still hospitalised. However, SKNVibes learned that the hospitalised man is Bridgewater.
