BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SHORTLY before 2:00 this morning (July 29), 20-year-old Kadeen Tyson was crowned Mr. Kool 2013 before an impressive audience at the Nevis Cultural Complex, landing a repeat win for a contestant from St. Kitts while Nevisian beauty 21-year-old Cherissa Maynard walked away with ‘queen’ status in the Miss Culture Swimsuit Competition.
This dual- show, which saw five contestants each, was one of the biggest events for the 39th annual Nevis Culturama festivity.
Tyson was adjudged Best Talent and was awarded Most Photogenic.
He is a member of Movado Model Agency while the newly-crowned beauty models for Frisky Designs.
First Runner-up was Keneisa Byron from St. Kitts but currently resides in Nevis while 21-year-old Ulinda Warner took the Second Runner-up position.
The other Miss Culture Swimwear contestants were 22-year-old Zena Hyman from Nevis and 23-year-old Stavena Lewis from St. Kitts.
Lewis presently resides in Nevis and she is a member of Flair Modelling Agency (in St. Kitts).
First Runner-up position in the Mr. Kool Contest was 26-year-old Jermaine Arthurton from Nevis.
Another Kittitian who resides in Nevis, 24-year-old Halva Joseph Browne, placed Second Runner-up. He is a member of Identity Model Agency from St. Kitts.
Other Mr. Kool contestants were 23-year-old De Sly ‘Nick’ Hamilton, who is believed to be originally from St. Kitts, and Vandon Samuel, who a Nevisian by birth but currently resides in Anguilla.
The 2012 Mr. Kool and Miss Culture Swimwear winners, Kevin Adams and Roslyn Berkley, both hail from St. Kitts.
