BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A victory for Jamaica has kept the team at the top of the table following the final day of the third round of matches in the Regional Under-19 Tournament, while a win for Guyana propelled them from the foot of the standings.
After declaring on 304 for 9 on the second day of play at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex in Molineux, Jamaica dismissed the Leeward Islands for 142 runs and asked them to follow-on.
Starting day three on 18 without loss, Leeward Islands struggled to score 185 all out with Avier Christian stroking 51and the consistent Jeremiah Louis hitting 53.
Fabian Allen was the thorn in Leeward Islands side with four wickets for 47 runs while Christopher Powell took three for 40, leaving their side with just 24 runs to seal victory.
The target was reached without the Jamaicans losing a wicket and extended their lead at the top of the points table.
Meanwhile, an unbeaten half century from Tagenarine Chanderpaul helped Guyana to secure victory over the Windward Islands at Conaree.
In their first innings, Guyana declared on 334 for 9 and dismissed Windward Islands for 235.
Chanderpaul, in the Guyanese second innings, scored 66 from 136 balls and lifted his team to a 237-run lead.
Taking to the crease, Windward Islands however collapsed to a meagre score of 96 with Keone George top scoring with 30.
Leading Guyana to victory by 140 runs were Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai who took four wickets for 20 and Vishoa Narayan three for 9.
And at Warner Park, the match between Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago ended in latter taking first innings points.
In their first innings, T&T scored 158 runs and dismissed Barbados for 149. And in the second innings, the Trinis knocked up 184 runs leaving the Bajans 194 for victory.
Just before tea on the final day, the Bajans were cruising at 80 for 3 but steadily lost wickets after the break and were 120 for 7 with seven overs remaining.
However, an unbroken stand between Jofra Archer and Jerome Jones ensured Barbados a draw as they closed on 134/7.
