Police seeks public’s help in armed robbery
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have informed that Rohan Hamilton, the man who allegedly wounded Vince Bridgewater on Friday (Jul. 26), was formally arrested and charged for the offence.
A police press release stated that Hamilton of St. Paul’s Village was slapped with a wounding with intent charge.
This media house learned that at about 4:45 p.m. on Friday, Bridgewater had an altercation with Hamilton in the vicinity of the National Museum in Basseterre which resulted in both of them receiving wounds to their bodies.
Bridgewater’s wound(s) was however the worse of the two and he was seen walking along the sidewalk on Fort Street heading in a northerly direction holding a piece of garment to the right of his forehead, from which blood was gushing.
His green vest was awash with blood to the front, but it was not known if that was caused by additional wounds to the chest area or that of his forehead.
Two police officers were in the area at the time and they took the wounded Bridgewater to the Joseph N France General Hospital in a squad car that was parked on Liverpool Row.
It was also learnt that a sharp instrument was used to inflict the wound/ wounds on Bridgewater’s body.
Meanwhile, police have also informed that officers of the Sandy Point Police Station are investigating a report of an armed robbery which was committed yesterday (Jul.29) at the old Dollar Stretcher building at Romney Ground.
Police did not state how many individuals were involved in the robbery, who the victim(s) was and what was stolen. They are however seeking the public’s assistance in bringing the perpetrator(s) to justice.
