Basseterre, St. Kitts – The Rotary Club of Liamuiga (RCL) during 2013 is celebrating “A Decade of Service to Our Communities.” RCL received its charter from Rotary International on February 10th, 2003. Commemorative 10th anniversary activities held so far this year included: a Thanksgiving Church Service, Joint Rotary Awareness Panel Discussion, Post-Christmas Fat Burn-A-Thon Charity Run/Walk, Inter-Club Cricket Competition, Peace Forum, Primary & High Schools Talent Search Competition, Installation & Awards Banquet and Better Beach Bodies Charity Run/Walk.
The Rotary Club of Liamuiga continues the commemorative activities with its 10th Anniversary Fête dubbed “BLISS.” This all-inclusive experience will be held on Saturday August 3rd, 2013 at Karma Beach Bar, Frigate Bay from 9 p.m. BLISS will be conducted as a fundraiser to support RCL’s many youth and community development projects for the 2013-2014 Rotary year. In particular, proceeds will be donated to the Advancement of Children Foundation and Rotary International’s Polio Plus campaign.
“We are truly grateful to the business community for their contributions to this event and our Club’s ongoing efforts to uplift and enhance our youth and communities throughout St. Kitts and Nevis,” said RCL President Valentine Hodge.
President Hodge noted that patrons can expect tons of giveaways from entities like Dufry, Ashburry's, MoJo Frozen Novelties, St. Kitts Scenic Railway and more. Guests will also have a chance to win tickets to the Club’s 2013/2014 New Year's Charity Ball, which is the premier New Year's event each year in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Live entertainment will be provided by the dynamic Green House Band and “Magic Fingers” DJ Ronnie Rascal. Tasty appetizers, beers, wines, sodas and juices are ALL INCLUDED for EC $100.
