LIME Press Release

Thousands of people in the Caribbean touched by LIME Acts of Kindness

When LIME launched it promised to think, work and behave differently – and that’s what it’s been doing. Since the beginning of November literally thousands of people across the Caribbean have been pleasantly surprised by unsolicited LIME Acts of Kindness - ranging from paying for a bus fare or cinema ticket to free breakfast and free car washes.

In every island where LIME operates, LIME teams have been offering every day Caribbean people “a little something” to brighten their day.

The approach has varied from island to island. In Jamaica, during a Monday morning rush hour, LIME took over the city’s imposing Transportation Center and paid the bus fare of literally hundreds of surprised passengers. In St Lucia the LIME team paid for the groceries of many startled but happy shoppers and in Turks and Caicos tired shoppers got help loading their cars. But the intent was always the same: to reach out and touch the people of the Caribbean with a helping hand.

And in some cases, it was more than just for the fun of it. When Hurricane Paloma hit, several LIME colleagues in Grand Cayman rushed to the aid of hurricane ravaged Cayman Brac to deliver emergency supplies. They even sent over 100 boxes of fried chicken after hearing the “Brackers” needed a boost.

Here in St. Kitts and Nevis, employees at Government Headquarters were pleasantly surprised when LIME staff came a knocking early in the morning distributing muffins and orange juice.  More recently, the staff of Four Season’s in Nevis received an early Christmas gift when they were each given a $20 phone card.  This particular gesture was delightfully received by the staff of that business in light of the current closure of that property for post Hurricane repairs.

Richard Dodd, CEO of LIME said “We wanted to show our customers that we really are different and that we are putting them first by going into the community and interacting with people on a one-to-one basis in a way that would make them feel good.” He went on “Our LIME colleagues have loved getting out among the public to bring a little bit of sunshine into their world and the response has been overwhelming – incredibly positive.”

LIME plans to continue showing the Caribbean that it cares throughout the Christmas period and well into the New Year with a schedule of Acts of Kindness that continues to demonstrate the company’s commitment to the people of the Caribbean.
