BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE young man who allegedly drew a machete during the Xtreme J’Ouvert jam held yesterday (Aug. 5) was formally arrested and charged.
He has been identified as 22-year-old Audrington ‘Weenie Man’ Syder of Fort Thomas Road.
And according to information received by SKNVibes, the specific charge with which he was slapped is “carrying abroad an offensive weapon”.
The alleged offence took place at West Independence Square Street.
On the day in question, Syder – after allegedly removing a sharpened machete from his person or pouch, fled the scene. And after officers gave chase, he was captured on Cayon Street and was allegedly relieved of the weapon.
He was taken to the Basseterre Police Station where he was officially charged.
This publication understands that Syder has since been granted bail and is awaiting his trial date.
