BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – PERSONS doing their usual commute across the eastern end of the F.T. Williams Highway this morning (Aug. 9) had observed a small aircraft precariously positioned near the southern fence of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.
Unconfirmed reports reaching this media house stated that the unoccupied aircraft, which was parked near the private jet terminal that is under construction at the airport, had moved from its original position, ran down a slope and ended up near the fence.
SKNVibes understands that when officers of the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services Department were conducting their routine inspection of the RLB Int’l Airport, they found that the aircraft – described as a Cessna Citation – was hanging over or teetering on the edge of an embankment and proceeded to roll several meters towards the airport’s perimeter fence.
Details surrounding the incident remain sketchy; however, it is being suggested that the wind many have contributed to the phenomenon.
Investigations are being made into the incident.
