     Basseterre, St Kitts – The Trinidadian duo of Jeremy Solozano and Bryan Charles have topped the West Indies Cricket Board Regional Under 19 3 Day Tournament batting and bowling averages respectively.

     

     

     

    Solozano tallied 334 runs at an average of 41.57 while he was closely followed by Tagenarine Chanderpaul, son of West Indian batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who scored 313 runs at an average of 52.17.

     

     

     

    Barbadian Aaron Jones (286 runs; 40.86 avg), Jamaican Jeremiah Louis (265 runs; 33.13 avg) and Windward Islander Tonius Simon (265 runs; 26.5 avg) round out the top five batting performers.

     

     

     

    There was a total of six centuries and 34 half centuries with the highest score of 143 having been scored by Jones. Solozano (136*), Chanderpaul (124*), Andy Gobin (105), Gian Benjamin  (101) and Akshay Homraj (100) were the other century makers.

     

     

     

    Charles claimed a tournament high 29 wickets at an average of 13.59 apiece while Gudakesh Moti-Kanhai bagged 27 wickets at 12.19. Trinidadian Jovan Ali (23 wkts; 10.26 avg), Jamaican Ramaal Lewis (22 wkts; 17.41 avg) and Windward Islander Larry Edward (20 wkts; 14.75 avg) complete the top five in the bowling department.

     

     

     

    Moti-Kanhai took the only 10 wicket haul in a match when he claimed 10 for 104 v Leewards. There were 15 five wicket hauls with Trinidadian Vikash Mohan’s 6 for 24 v Windwards being the best innings figures. Moti-Kanhai (6 for 42 v T&T), Leeward Islander Alzari Joseph (6 for 44 v Windwards) and Jamaica’s Christopher Powell (6 for 45 v Guyana) also collected six wicket hauls. 

     

     

     

    The top all round returns were produced by Taryck Gabriel of the Windward Islands who made 261 runs and bagged 17 wickets.

     

     

     

    Jamaica’s Romario Morris (13 catches, 3 stumpings), Barbados’ Carlos Maynard (11 catches, 5 stumpings) and Gian Benjamin (16 catches) of Windward Islanders each effected 16 dismissals to top the wicketkeeping table.

     

     

     

    Brandon King (Jamaica), Andy Gob (T&T) and Moti-Kanhai each took 8 fielding catches.
