BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are investigating an incident in which a young woman was raped in Sandy Point on Tuesday (Jul. 30).
A report reaching SKNVibes indicates that the victim is a teenager and was returning home when she was accosted by a man, who subsequently raped her.
According to a well-placed source, “The young lady was heading towards her home sometime after 9:00 p.m. after visiting a friend. Suddenly, a man came from the rear, grabbed her and dragged her into some bushes and raped her.”
The source added that the area within which the incident occurred does not have street lights and it has a cluster of tall grass and trees that could conceal the movements of anyone who has criminal intention.
The incident was reported at the Sandy Point Police Station but no word has so far been had if anyone were arrested or if the police were seeking a person of interest.
