Duffs Bottom, Tortola, VI, August 14th 2013 - The Save the Seed Energy Centre founded by Bishop John I. Cline who also pastors the New Life Baptist Church in Duff Bottom and Third District Representative, the Honourable Julian Fraser RA, have teamed-up for a national intermediate basketball league.

The league will start this Friday August 16, 2013 with an opening ceremony at 5 P.M. at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duffs Bottom, Tortola.

According to an organiser, there are over 11 teams from around Tortola expected to compete.

Love of country not politics motivation for league

During a press conference to launch the National Intermediate Basketball League on July 29, 2013, Hon. Julian Fraser RA, the popular veteran legislator who served as a Deputy Chief Minister and ministers of Natural Resources and Labour and Communications and Works under a previous administration, told the media that “the Bishop and I are Virgin Islanders first and foremost and anything that's in the best interest of the Virgin Islands, I am sure I speak for him when I say we support”.

Hon. Fraser, who continues to support many youth activities from sports, and jobs to scholarships over a 13 year plus period in his district and beyond said, “when it comes to youth and youth affairs the Bishop and I are both parents, and we do not believe that squabbling and fighting is the best way to solve the problem," Hon. Fraser stated.

Bishop Cline, of the New Life Baptist Church in Duffs Bottom and the founder and person behind the establishment of the Save the Seed Energy Centre, said at the launching of the basketball league last month that it was the love for young people and seeing them and the country develop that brought him and Hon. Fraser together on the project.

"It's the love of country that brings us together," Bishop Cline stated.
