Mother suspected of burning daughter

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – INFORMATION reaching this publication indicates that the services of members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, the Child Welfare Department and medical doctors were solicited Friday evening (Aug. 16) after word began circulating that two children suffered serious burns about their bodies.

SKNVibes was reliably informed that the children are those of a popular female calypsonian and, according to unconfirmed reports, the boy – said to be no more than 18 months old – and the girl – who is believed to be no more than 12 years of age – were taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment Friday evening.

Further reports reaching this publication indicate that the younger of the two carried burns on his shoulder, wrist and back while the older carried more severe burns on both of her arms, one on her leg and another on her chest area.

Both are currently warded at the hospital and are receiving treatment for their injuries.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the mother is a suspect in the matter and either was or still is assisting the police with their investigations.

It is suggested that criminal charges could be laid against the mother, depending on the results of the inquiries.

More on this matter as information becomes available.
