BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MOTORISTS involved in a two-vehicle accident that took place on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 18) were very fortunate to escape injury, but one of the vehicles sustained considerable damage.

The incident occurred nigh 1:00 p.m. in the vicinity of the CONTEC Bus Stop at the junction of the St. Peter’s Main Road and the Tegreman Boulevard.

The Traffic Department of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force explained to SKNVibes that the incident involved motorcar P9907, owned and driven by Rodah Procope of Greenlands, and motor pickup PA1527, owned and driven by Carolette Christopher of Parray’s Housing Project.

The Department informed that according to their understanding of the circumstances, P1527 was travelling from St. Peter’s towards Basseterre along the Main Road and a collision occurred when P9907 was attempting to leave the junction of the Main Road and Tegreman Boulevard.

Resultantly, the right front portion of PA1527 sustained some damage while those to the left front of P9907 were considerable. The incident also resulted in almost total removal of the vehicle’s front bumper.

No personal injuries – according to the Department – resulted from the crash.

Officers of the Stapleton Police Station are making investigations into the incident.
