BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young mother was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital this afternoon (Aug. 25) after she reportedly suffered stab wounds at the hands of the father of her children.
The mother of three – said to be in her late 20s – is a resident of Boyd’s Village and, according to reports, the alleged assailant resides just metres from her home.
The incident occurred sometime between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
An individual who spoke with SKNVibes on condition of anonymity indicated that they were present in the area in which the incident occurred.
“She (the victim) and her sister were coming from through the alley and then I saw them appear on the step (of her home) and they were both crying.”
The individual said the victim suffered stab wounds to both of her legs and further explained that, according to their understanding, the assailant stabbed her with an ice pick.
SKNVibes understands that the young mother was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital via an Emergency Medical Services unit and is receiving treatment for her wounds.
This publication further understands that the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has been made aware of the incident and should be making investigations.
Persons from the area have indicated that the alleged perpetrator has not been seen since the incident occurred.
