Christ Festival still on but without Donnie Mc Clurkin

By: Jenise Ferlance, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THREE popular individuals who were scheduled to perform at the much anticipated inaugural Christ Festival will no longer be a part of the show, which would now only be running for two days instead of three.

Speaking with one of the organisers yesterday (Aug. 26), Steven Fleming explained who the acts are and why they would no longer be performing.

He told this publication that Donnie Mc Clurkin, William Mc Dowell and Micah Stampley had requested specific instruments to use on the night of their performance which the organisers had to rent from overseas.

He said that they were unable to have such equipment in the Federation by the needed time and so those acts would not be able to perform at the Christ Festival.

Fleming however indicated that the show would go on as planned but spanning over two nights (Aug. 30 and 31) instead of the expected three at the Warner Park Stadium.

He also indicated that those persons who had already purchased tickets to see the three performers could go back to the vendors from whom they bought the tickets and request a refund.

The organiser informed that although the individuals would not be performing this weekend, they would be in the Federation entertaining sometime later this year.

He said a rescheduled date has not yet been confirmed but indicated that the performers would definitely be in the Federation entertaining before the end of the year.

Fleming is encouraging persons to come out and attend the Christ Festival despite the absence of its three top performers, noting that it is all in worship of the Lord and not the persons entertaining.

He said that there would still be great performers there including Shanna Wilson and Sherwin Gardner.

Fleming also said that the Festival is not about worshiping the performers but rather praising and uplifting.

"I am encouraging everyone to come on out to the first annual Christ Festival. Let us praise and worship Christ together!"
