BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE young man who reportedly stabbed the mother of his children on Sunday (Aug. 25) has been formally arrested and charged.
A press release issued by the Press and Public Relations Office of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force today (Aug. 28) informs that Sheldon Kelly of Boyd’s Village was charged with “inflicting grievous bodily harm”.
The incident for which Kelly is being held responsible occurred near his home and, according to information received by this publication, it is alleged that he – with the use of a sharp instrument – stabbed Kishma Woolard in her right leg and left hip.
She was reportedly walking through the alley with her sister and both were transporting drawers from a chest-of-drawers when the incident occurred. This publication understands that Woolard was able to ward off some of the jabs by using the drawers as a shield.
She received treatment for her injuries at the Joseph N. France General Hospital and was later released.
Both the victim and the alleged assailant were scheduled to appear before the Court two days after the incident for a child-maintenance hearing.
