BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A woman, was earlier this evening (Aug. 31) pronounced dead at Cockle Shell Beach in the Southeast Peninsula of St. Kitts.
According to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David, the woman was in the sea and was observed drifting by a swimmer.
David told this publication that the swimmer rescued the woman from the water but she was unresponsive when pulled ashore.
He stated that attempts were made to resuscitate her via CPR but they were unsuccessful and she was later pronounced dead by a local doctor who was on the beach.
He informed that a post mortem would be performed on the body at a later date to determine the cause of death.
