BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - TWO individuals were taken to the JNF General Hospital for treatment following a traffic accident this morning (Sept. 2).
Speaking with Sergeant (SGT) Calvin Amory of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Traffic Department, he told this media house that the incident occurred at 9:45 a.m. along the Island Main Road in the vicinity of the Landfill in Conaree.
SGT Amory said the accident involved motorcar PA 5406 driven by the Reverend Jeremy Francis of Mansion Village and concrete truck PA 8556 owned by CONTEC DT and driven by Clayton Southwell of Cunningham Street.
SKNVibes understands that the concrete truck was travelling from Keys towards Basseterre and the motorcar, which had one passenger, was travelling in the opposite direction when both vehicles collided while turning at the curve where the Landfill is located.
The front portion of the motorcar was extensively damaged and the front section of the concrete truck was damaged as well.
Both the driver and passenger of the motorcar were taken to the hospital to be treated, but it is unknown whether or not they were discharged.
Investigations into the accident is ongoing.
