BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - KITTITIAN fashion designer 30-year-old Shannen Azuredee, creator of the female clothing line Poetic Rhythm, is currently calling on potential sponsors to kindly make good on her request for assistance in helping with the launch of a new collection in the 2013 London Fashion Week slated to take place next Friday (Sept. 13) at the Radisson Blu Portmore Hotel.
Azuredee is based in New York City in the US but is currently in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) on St. Thomas. Originally, she hails from Baker’s Corner in Basseterre.
In an interview with SKNVibes, she expressed that it is a “great honour” to have been accepted as one of the featured designers and why the opportunity to partake in the event is so important on a nationalistic level.
“I get to showcase my designs in London, which is the ‘Fashion Capital’, while entering a contest where I would represent St. Kitts as I am a Kittitian first and foremost. This is a great honour to be accepted to showcase at London Fashion Week. My designs have been by celebs like Reagan Gomez and few others that I can't mention as yet due to privacy issues of their events.”
The young designer’s work has been featured in similar internationally-recognised shows this year, namely New York Fashion Week in February, Summer Sizzle (British Virgin Islands) and Mercedes Benz Swim Week (Florida) in July.
In a copy of a sponsorship package letter, shown to this media house, Azuredee highlighted that “We are staging an unveiling of our collection as part of London Fashion Week, held in London. The show takes place on September 13, 2013, where we will present our collection”.
“Now we need your support to make our Resort14 collection happens. We're seeking small sponsorships from companies that are of interest to fashion show attendees,” she added.
Potential sponsors are asked to please consider a Gold ($4 000), Silver ($2 000), Copper ($1 000) or Bronze ($500) sponsorship.
Notably, the event's budget will go to airfare, hotel, services and facilities at the venue, fabric purchases, supplies for the collection and other costs associated with the event.
