BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - WYNEL FINCH, a Parson Ground resident, was announced Kajola Kristada's Employee of the Month (EoM) for July.
SKNVibes spoke with the most recent winner who, very humbly, told this publication that she had been working towards the win for quite some time.
Finch said that she had been with the company for some 14 years but never received the award, so she made the decision to work harder and push for the prize and she is happy now that she has been successful in gaining it.
When asked about her reaction on hearing the good news, Finch said that she was scared when she received the call.
"I was frightened when I was first called into the office. Both me and my supervisor were called and I kept asking and wondering what did I do wrong."
Finch said she was ecstatic when finally told that she had won the EoM award for July.
"I was so happy I hugged my supervisor and I said I wanted to go tell my friend, she is also a co-worker. We went and I told my friend and she started jumping up; she was so happy for me," she said.
Human Resource Manager Malvie James said, on behalf of Finch's Supervisor, that the Ex 11 Line employee is a very hard worker.
She explained that Finch has improved in efficiency and utilisation, adding that she encourages other staff members to give of their best.
Kajola Kristada's Employee of the Month was established some five years ago in an effort to ensure that the employees are recognised and duly awarded for their hard work and dedication.
Each Employee of the Month is chosen based on the person's knowledge of the job, quality, attire, versatility, punctuality, attendance and team building.
Finch said that she is very happy to have finally copped the award and has her photo added to the Kajola's Employee of the Month Wall, adding that she would continue to push harder and reap more rewards.
