One dead, two injured in traffic accident

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN early morning traffic accident in St. Kitts has resulted in the death of one man and injuries to two others.

Reports reaching SKNVibes state that Japhet Joseph of Old Road died this morning (Dec. 21) when the vehicle he was driving, P6357, overturned in the vicinity of Conyers.

According to Head of the Police Traffic Department Inspector Venetta Wyatt, sometime after 5:00 a.m. Joseph was driving his vehicle along the island’s main road travelling from Newton Ground to Old Road.

The Inspector stated that on approaching a hill in the Conyers area, the vehicle overturned and resulted in the death of Joseph and injuries to two of the four passengers in his car.

She further said that he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while the two injured passengers were transported to the JNF General Hospital by a unit from the Emergency Medical Services.

“Both passengers were treated for their injuries and while one of them was discharged, the other was detained at the hospital,” Inspector Wyatt said.
