One shot, two injured on Nevis

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – ONE man was shot and two others injured on Friday (Sept. 13) in separate incidents on Nevis.

     

    Reports reaching SKNVibes state that police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Brown Hill, which has left a Bath Village resident nursing a gunshot wound at the Alexandra Hospital.

    According to a police press release, three men had attempted to rob the Bath Village resident who, “in an attempt to disarm one the assailants received a non-fatal gunshot wound”.

    The release further states that nothing of monetary value was taken from the wounded individual who was subsequently transported to the Alexandra Hospital, where he was treated for his injury.

    “Anyone who has any information pertaining to this incident is asked to call the Violent Crime Unit (VCU) at 469-5392, Ext. 27, or, any police station, or, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477. Remember, you information will be treated with confidence, and you may be eligible to receive a reward,” the release reads.

    And in an unrelated incident, two men were injured during fights at a bar in Charlestown.

    The fights occurred at Enrique’s Bar, where Vaughan Parris of Stoney Grove and Lawvinton Forbes of Hamilton Road were injured.

    Both men were transported to the Alexandra Hospital and treated for their injuries.

    Following these two incidents, the police on Nevis are asking everyone who would be attending events over this long weekend and others scheduled for the 30th Independence Anniversary to conduct themselves in a responsible manner as law abiding citizens and residents.
