BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 5TH 2005 The Republic of China on Taiwan is hailing the outstanding leadership of St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas.
Taiwans Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Tan Sun Chen in a message to Prime Minister Douglas to mark his 10th Anniversary as Head of Government, said he was confident that under your outstanding leadership, the cordial relations and close cooperation so happily existing between our two countries will continue to strengthen in the years to come.
Dr. Chen wished Prime Minister Douglas best wishes for his continued success and personal well-being.
Dr. Douglas was sworn in as the Federations Second Prime Minister on July 4th 1995 after his St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party won seven of the eleven seats in the National Assembly. The Labour Party won 7 of the 8 seats on St. Kitts in the July 3rd poll.
Dr Douglas is serving his third term as Prime Minister after his Labour Party won re-election on March 6th 2000 and October 24th 2004.
