President Obama tells Governor General he looks forward to deeper collaboration on renewable energy, economic development and regional security

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, September 24th 2013 (CUOPM) – The President of the United States, the Hon. Barack Obama has joined world leaders in congratulating St. Kitts and Nevis on the 30th Anniversary of Independence.

     

    In a message to the Federation’s Governor General, His Excellency Sir Edmund Lawrence, President Obama extended “the enthusiastic congratulations and well wishes of the American people.”

     

    “The United States greatly appreciate the strong friendship between our countries as we jointly pursue a safe, secure, and prosperous future for the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis and the United States alike,” the U.S. President said.

     

    President Obama added: “We are proud to be your neighbour and partner, and look forward to deeper collaboration on renewable energy, climate change, economic development, and regional security.”
