BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FANS and music lovers of Jamaican songstress Tessanne Chin, who had their eyes glued to their television sets last night (Sept. 23) with the hope of seeing her audition on The Voice, are asked to watch the new season’s second episode tonight (Sept. 24) for the entertainment treat.
The popular reality television singing competition in the USA premiered last night on channel NBC with its fifth season, which saw a two-hour blind audition show with over eight competitors.
For season five, Voice coaches Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green have returned in the seats of their midseason replacements, Usher and Shakira, and are now reunited with Blake Sheldon and Adam Levine.
The united four kicked off last night’s premiere, which started at 8:00, singing ‘I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll’.
Earlier this month, Chin revealed that she auditioned for the show, via the popular social network Twitter, saying, “Hey everyone, though you should know I auditioned for the voice! Tune in Sept 23 to see how I did.”
In a new tweet posted last night following the show, the songstress thanked everyone who tuned in and asked all to watch the show tonight.
A screen shot of her tweet was put on her Facebook fan page and, in posting the photo, said “Thank you sooo much everyone for joining me so far on this journey means the world to me and for your patience.”
Notably, Chin’s post was made at 9:01 p.m. and it is believed that she is presently in Jamaica, which is currently an hour behind Eastern United States time.
Immediately following the show and in reply to Chin’s post, many fans and supporters took to the Facebook fan page to express their anticipation to see her performance on The Voice.

Chin, who is a popular edgy Rock, Reggae and Dancehall entertainer, is a past performer of the St. Kitts Music Festival having made her debut performance in 2007.
Urbanislandz.com, revealed that Chin has credited veteran Jamaican Reggae and Dancehall artiste Shaggy for convincing her to take part in the competition.
“Shaggy suggested it, and I have to give him props for that. He thought it was a really good way to showcase my talent to a much wider audience.”
She said auditioning on The Voice is not only about a “buss” for her.
“I can only be true to myself. I always sing from the heart and hope that my audience feels whatever I am singing. It’s not just about a ‘buss’, it’s what I can learn from the experience. What a great training ground this could be for me, and, like I said, an evolution for myself as an artiste.”
Tessanne Chin is the artiste behind popular songs like ‘Hide Away’, ‘Broken Melody’, ‘Messenger’ and also ‘Never Let Me Go’ featuring Shaggy.
Tonight, The Voice is scheduled to continue at 8:00 ET/PT on NBC.
