BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - LEADER of the People's Action Movement (PAM) Hon. Shawn K. Richards is encouraging one and all to go out in their white today (Sept. 26) at 7:00 p.m. for the official launch of the Unity Team.

He made the plea yesterday morning (Sept. 25) on Sugar City Rock's Straight Talk programme with Ian 'Patches' Liburd.

Richards asked persons to go out in their numbers, wear white and take along with them the National Flag.

"You are asked to wear white and to also bring your National Flag with you. So if you have a flag, bring your flag with you but we are asking you to wear white tomorrow evening. We want you to not just come out in white but also to come out and show the colours of St. Kitts and Nevis because we are saying we are one people and that is what Unity is about, recognising that we are one people.

"We are not all the same, we are unique individuals but we can come together to make this nation a much better nation and so tomorrow you are asked to wear white and to bring a national flag with you if you have a flag. If not, we understand, but bring your flag, bring your noise makers, bring your whistles, bring your children, bring the entire family to Greenlands tomorrow evening at 7:00," he said.

The Constituency Five representative said that persons have been asking for a long time and the time to fulfil their request has come, noting that today's launch would be the biggest political meting ever seen in the twin-island Federation.

"You have been asking over and over when you're going to see the launch on Unity, that launch is tomorrow evening. You're going to have the candidates from CCM, the candidates from PLP, the candidates from People's Action Movement (PAM).

"We expect this meeting to be the biggest political meeting in the history of St. Kitts and Nevis. This meeting must send a message to the illegal and minority government that their time has come to an end. The people have had enough and the people will be moving forward in Unity."

Naming all members of the Unity Team, Richards said that the people of St. Kitts and Nevis have spoken and is choosing to move forward with those 11 candidates.

He said there would be other Unity meetings throughout all 11 Constituencies, adding that today evening would see the much anticipated announcement of the Unity Leader and Deputy Leader as well as entertainment.

"After that launch you can expect to see further Unity meetings throughout St. Kitts and Nevis in all of the 11 Constituencies. We will have entertainment...you do not want to miss out on the entertainment, so you want to be there early. You have asked who the Leader is going to be, who the Deputy Leader will be, all of that information you will get tomorrow evening at Greenlands Park."

Richards said that persons have been saying that the Unity Team could not stand together and that after today they would have to spread a different rumour.

"There are those who have been saying to you that 'Oh, you can't see that Unity is not workable, they can't come together'. Well, tomorrow that particular rumour will be dispelled. I guess they will come up with something new after tomorrow evening," he said.
