BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE young man who was shot Tuesday night (Sept. 24) in Sandy Point is said to be warded at the JNF General Hospital in stable condition.
An investigation conducted by this media house revealed that the hospitalised man, Keric Lewis of Main Street, Sandy Point, was shot in the right leg.
It was learnt that at about 8:40 on the night in question, the 23-year-old was among friends watching a netball game at the Sandy Point Hard Court when a single shot rang out and struck him in his right leg.
Pandemonium broke out as spectators scrambled to get out of the venue and Lewis ran all the way to the Pogson Medical Centre from where he was later transported by ambulance to the JNF General Hospital.
Speaking with SKNVibes, the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Lyndon David, informed that so far no one has been held in connection with the shooting incident but investigations are ongoing.
He also said that “anyone who may have information pertaining to this incident is asked to call the Sandy Point Police Station at 465-6261, the Violent Crime Unit (VCU) at 465-2241 ext. 230 or Crime Stoppers at 1800-8477 (TIPS). Remember, you do not have to give your name, address or telephone number, and you may be eligible to receive a reward”.
