Resort in St Kitts continues to give back to its Caribbean Island community
Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 2nd 2013 – Supporting their local community and giving back has been an embedded activity within this St Kitts resort by embracing Marriott’s “Spirit to Serve”. The resorts support has come through numerous donations and partnerships to a multitude of establishments on St Kitts
So far for 2013 the St Kitts Marriott hotel has supported the following schools and nonprofit organizations:
• AVEC is a post-secondary training institute whose core objective is to develop young people to become productive and positive citizens.
• Joseph N France General Hospital and other health institutes around the island
• Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School – school for persons with special needs
• The local branch of the Salvation Army
• Operation Future – This program was initiated to educate children about the dangers of youth crime, violence, and drugs.
• Verchild’s High School
• Charles E Mills Secondary School
• Washington Archibald High School
• Ministry of Youth Empowerment
• Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College
• Ministry of Sustainable Development
The generosity of this St Kitts resort has no boundaries as it continues annually to provide a 6 week hospitality program for the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College interns. Members of staff have also lent their expertise by facilitating specific topics in the different schools.

Additional initiatives and partnerships are planned for the remainder of 2013. Upcoming events include the 4th Annual 2k Walk and 5k Run which is being held to raise funds for the St Kitts Children’s Home and partnerships with the local Breast Cancer organizations in honor of October being Breast Cancer Month.
