Individuals and organizations seeking funding for projects from the St. Kitts and Nevis Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF) may now view the priority investment areas and apply online. Twelve sectors have been identified as priorities, and the maximum amount of funds allocated to each sector for the period October to December 2013 has been indicated. Also listed are the types of businesses for which funding will be considered under the various project sectors.
Applicants are required to submit a business proposal using the format which may be downloaded. The project proposal and a cover letter along with any other supporting documents are then submitted online. Approved projects will be financed through loans, grants or a combination of both. The webpage displays the number of applications received for each sector, and the funds currently available. Therefore, persons interested in obtaining financing for projects are encouraged to monitor the website (www.sknsidf.org) and be guided by the status updates. The online access is expected to streamline the application process thus creating greater efficiency.
The priority investment areas were determined in consultation with the Ministry of Sustainable Development. Project sectors with funding allocated will be posted at the beginning of each quarter. They will change as necessary to reflect the current priorities for national development.
