BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - DUBBED A Night in Paradise, tomorrow night (Oct. 10) popular national singer, song writer and musician 23-year-old Charles Emanuel will be taking his audience on a musical journey, as he will be creatively entertaining his fans and music lovers in an efforts to raise funds for his first music video for a song called ‘Paradise’.
The event will be held at Ma Pau on Port Zante, starting at 8:00 p.m and admission is only EC$20 for this well-anticipated entertainment extravaganza.
Charlie, as he is affectionately known, will be backed by Limitless LP on this musical journey that will highlight Pop, R&B, Reggae and Island Soul music flavours “that will have you begging for more”.
‘Paradise’, which was the second released single off his six-track ‘Invincible’ mix tape, was officially publicised on Valentine's Day of this year.
According to Emanuel, “It's one of the more popular songs from the mixtape and it is even safe to say that it’s a favorite of many people.”
The soft album release for ‘Invincible’ was held on Jan. 31 before a relatively large audience during Island Xpressions’ monthly event at Ma Pau.
Emanuel, during an interview with SKNVibes, shared how he arrived at the idea for this concert-type event.
“The show is in efforts to produce my first music video. With releasing my first collection of original music, I wanted to take it a step further and have at least one music video. Music videos are rather expensive to produce and I would much rather earn it than ask for assistance. So I came up with the idea for the show.”
Commenting on what the song is about, he said: “Paradise is about seeing someone in a relationship and you know you're a way better person for them.”
Asked what people can expect tomorrow night, he replied: “People can expect a music journey. I'm going to be touching genres for everybody. The band and I worked on some remixes for some of the songs for the show and I can't wait for the audience to hear it.”
Emanuel said he is anxious yet thrilled about plans to have his first music video.
“My feelings leading up to my first music video is nerve-racking and exciting at the same time. I've had the idea in my head for the video ever since I recorded the song; so I'm ready to bring it to life.”
Charles Emanuel made his debut performance at this year’s 17th annual St. Kitts Music Festival, emerging from the shadows as a back-up singer for artistes in the persons of reigning Senior Calypso Monarch now politician King Konris; national songstress Rolhensha; and calypso legend Lord Nelson from Trinidad and Tobago.
