Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 8th- The Tourism Industry on St. Kitts & Nevis stands to benefit from superior training. Nine persons were selected to take part in a work and study program, funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the School of Hotel Management in the Dominican Republic.
Participants representing the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Nevis Tourism Authority and the Tourism Industry at large, are schedule to leave the island later this month, for South Carolina, USA.
The internship will be facilitated by the American Hospitality Academy (AHA), one of the leading hospitality institutes, known for its international cultural exchange, and practical training in the areas of Food Services, Room Division, Resort Activities, Culinary and Hospitality Administration.
While there, the participants will engage not only in formal training, but will also be assigned to various prestigious hotels in the Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach areas of South Carolina. These areas are known popular vacation spots for both US and international vacationers, receiving over 26 million visitors per year. Simultaneously, the AHA focuses its programming on cultural diversity and breaking down cultural stereotypes, which are essential for understanding and working in the Hospitality Industry.
Human Resources Manager at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Mrs. Novelette Morton-Hanley said, The internship is an excellent opportunity for the participants to learn more about the Hospitality Industry, while enhancing their skills and knowledge about the Industry.
The St. Kitts Tourism Authority regards this internship as an element that will enable the interns to develop the right attitude and acquire the knowledge to further develop the Hospitality Industry on the island.
