BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, October 11th 2013 (CUOPM) – Co-operation between the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis and Georgia was the main talking point between the Federation’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Patrice Nisbett and his Georgian counterpart, Her Excellency Maria Panjikidze.

The discussion was held in the margins of the recently convened 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York City.

The two high government officials discussed cooperation by both countries at the level of the United Nations and technical assistance to be provided by the Georgia in the area tertiary education, culture and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

The anticipated outcome of the discussions is a memorandum of understanding which will outline in greater detail the areas of cooperation and the modalities for implementing the elements contained therein.

Foreign Minister Nisbett made a commitment to follow up on the matters discussed on his return to Capital and continue the discussions with a view to ensuring an outcome which will strengthen the bonds of friendship between St. Kitts and Nevis and Georgia and further our respective development objectives.
