Team UNITY Kicks Off East Basseterre Campaig

    Candidate Ian “Patches” Liburd Reiterates Commitment to give Half Salary to Constituency 

     

    Basseterre, St.Kitts (Team UNITY Communications):- Ian “Patches” Liburd was on Wednesday fully endorsed as the candidate for Constituency #1 East Basseterre and a member of Team UNITY. The occasion was a public meeting held on George Street at which hundreds of well-wishers and supporters rallied to listen to “Patches” and members of the team speak to the which outline their vision of a roadmap for St. Kitts and Nevis that would provide opportunity for all. A vision the team has labeled Team UNITY’s “Prosperity Agenda”  
     
    The meeting got got off to an exciting start and the presentation by the Team UNITY Candidates were packed with visionary policies that offered much for every citizen and resident. Youth issues were addressed by Mr. Jonel Powell; Unity candidate for Constituency # 2, while Mr. Lindsay Grant focused on women’s issues. The Hon. Shawn Richards discussed current events with a focus on the way forward. 
     
    The Hon. Sam Condor fully endorsed “Patches” by recalling his work ethic, experience and accomplishments.
     
    Ian “Patches” Liburd spoke of the social and economic issues facing the constituents of East Basseterre after  twenty years of inadequate representation. Liburd addressed the issue of housing and as well as the deplorable state of infrastructure in the community. A situation which is exacerbated by the fact that the entire area of Newtown and Ponds Pasture  is below sea level and prone to severe flooding which has been a chronic problem for years and as been very limitedly addressed by the representative Dr Earl Asim Martin who is also the Minister of Public Works and Utilities.
     
    “Patches” concluded his exciting , fiery and informative presentation by reiterating his commitment of offering 50% of his salary as representative to sports and social development in the East Basseterre constituency.
     
    Hon Dr. Timothy Harris, leader of team Unity brought down the curtains on the meeting with a prescription for the sick patients of St. Kitts and Nevis which are suffering from catastrophic debt and economic stagnation by announcing that the Government of National Unity will remove VAT from food and medicine as part of the Team UNITY Prosperity Agenda.
