PROVIDENCE, Guyana – Preston McSween followed up a half-century from Tagenarine Chanderpaul with a destructive spell to spur West Indies Under-19s to a 67-run victory over Bangladesh Under-19s in their fifth Youth One-day International yesterday here.
McSween grabbed 4-20 from 8.3 overs to earn the Man-of-the-Match award, as the Windies Under-19s successfully defended a target total of 178 to claim a morale-boosting victory under the lights at the Guyana National Stadium.
Chanderpaul led the way with 51, as the West Indies Under-19s were dismissed for 177 in 46.2 overs, after struggling against the visitors’ spin bowlers.
The result meant that the home team now trail 2-3 in the seven-match series.
