Calypso Reggie jailed for beating woman

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – REGINALD THOMAS, popularly known as ‘Calypso Reggie’, was yesterday jailed for beating a female.

     

    Thomas appeared yesterday (Oct. 22) in the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Reynold Benjamin charged with beating a female from Ottley’s Village.

    He was found guilty of the offence and sentenced to serve six months at Her Majesty’s Prison.

    The incident was said to have been committed on Fort Thomas Road on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.

    Also at the Magistrate’s Court, Javier Daniel of Saddler’s Village was convicted for the offence of Larceny of iPhone, which was committed on Friday, November 9, 2012.

    Daniel was ordered to pay a fine of $300 in two weeks, and if in default would have to serve a one-month term of imprisonment. 

    He was also ordered to compensate the victim the value of the item by Friday (Nov.1).

    Meanwhile, a release stated that police had arrested and charged Alexis Wilkinson of Trafalgar Village and Audington Syder of Durant Avenue for separate offences. 

    Wilkinson was charged with possession of cannabis and possession with intent to supply to another, which he allegedly committed on Monday (Oct. 21), while Syder was charged with unlawful possession; an offence he allegedly committed on Sunday (Oct. 20).
