Financial Information Month Financial Fitness Walkathon and Innovation Rally

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, October 24th, 2013 -- The staff of financial and real sector institutions which are organising Financial Information Month in St Kitts and Nevis will  hold a Financial Fitness Walkathon and Innovation Rally on Saturday 26 October from 4:30 p.m. beginning at the Circus, Basseterre.

     

    The walk which is being held under the theme “Walking for Change – Reshaping Our Future”, forms part of the activities commemorating Financial Information Month 2013 and is designed to motivate participants from financial institutions, non-financial institutions, schools, community groups and the public at large to strive for financial and physical well-being. Team activities geared toward providing a fun filled and challenging environment for the participants to sharpen their team building and competitive skills will be incorporated into the event.  

    Registration for the walk begins at 3:45 p.m. and participants will receive a pair of shuttered glasses with the registration fee of five dollars for adults and three dollars for children. The rally, which immediately follows the walk will be held at the Circus and will feature creative performances, fun activities for the entire family and chances to win prizes.
     
    Financial Information Month is a regional financial, economic, business and entrepreneurial education campaign executed in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) since 2002, through the collaborative efforts of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, ECCU member governments, financial and academic institutions, the media, other private and public sector institutions and community based groups.

    The month forms part of an ECCU financial and economic education programme coordinated by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).

    The programme incorporates a series of initiatives designed to support the attainment of the goal of “a financially developed and vibrant ECCU region that fosters strong and sustainable economic growth and the improved well-being of the citizenry.”
