BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IT seems as though the male workers of Kajola Kristada are mounting a challenge to the women of that company; for this is the second time in a three-month period that a male has been named Employee of the Month (EOM).
Kegel Doyling was recently announced as Kajola Kristada’s Employee of the Month for the month of September, 2013.
The young man has been employed at Kajola for some seven years and, according to his supervisor Octavia Richards, he works in the Warehouse and his dependability is second to none.
She also commented on the fact that the males seem to be challenging the women in terms of performance.
“He is a very nice worker...very dependable. I am very happy because the workplace does not consist only of females. The males bring up a good portion of the workload here. He is very dependable, very friendly. People on the floor, they have a very good relationship with him...generally a very good worker. I am very happy that another man has won but, more so, I am happy that it was him who won.”
Doyling – who appears not to be a man of many words – declared to SKNVibes that he was not necessarily moved when given the news of his accomplishment but viewed it as just him doing his job.
While speaking with SKNVibes, Doyling’s former Verchild’s High School French teacher – Valencia Kelly – popped into the factory on personal business and took the opportunity to congratulate him on his achievement.
The six-year-old EOM programme was established to provide incentive to workers and to reward those who worked with excellence.
A Committee was set in place to select the winner for each month and it is tasked with comparing the candidates’ performance with the criteria list which speaks to their versatility, knowledge of the job, punctuality, team building capabilities and their work attire.
SKNVibes extends congratulations to Doyling on his accomplishment.
Kajola-Kristada Ltd. is owned by the Mezzalingua family in Syracuse, New York and first opened its doors on May 5, 1999.
The main product manufactured by the company is CATV Traps, which are small cylindrical electronic devices that are fitted into Cable TV wires to allow Cable TV subscribers to see certain channels or block those to which the customer does not subscribe.
