Speedy justice for fraud suspect

~~Adz:Right~~CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - A man who is assisting the police in a fraud investigation received a shock yesterday (Jan. 13) when he was found with a quantity of controlled drugs and immediately taken before the District “C” Magistrate’s Court.
Fraud suspect Andy Moore of Fountain Village appeared before Magistrate Yasmine Clarke for possession of controlled drugs and was fined EC$800. The amount is to be paid within eight months of he will have to serve one month in prison.
According to the evidence presented in court, the police, during a routine search operation on Tuesday, found a quantity of controlled drugs in Moore’s possession. He was arrested and taken to the Charlestown Police Station where he charged and immediately taken before Magistrate Clarke.
In the same court, a young man from New Castle was fined EC$2 000 or three months in jail after he was found in possession of controlled drugs. He was arrested on Friday, January 9.
Also appearing in court yesterday was Roger Myers of Bath Village, who was arrested on January 9 after he was found in possession of controlled drugs, firearms and ammunition.
Myers was fined EC$1 000 to be paid in two months or he will spend three months behind bars.
Meanwhile, Larry Neale of Fountain was fined a total of EC$500 for riding a motorcycle without insurance and also without a license. Neale, who was intercepted at Stoney Grove while riding motor cycle PA 3874, was given two months to pay the fine or be imprisoned for 14 days.
