New Road man succumbs to gunshot wounds

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SOME two weeks after being shot outside his New Road Housing Project Home, Royden Peetes Jr., also known as ‘Junie’ and ‘Junior’, succumbed to his injuries.

     

    Information reaching SKNVibes states that Peetes died sometime yesterday (Nov. 1) at the JNF Hospital where he was warded.

    This information was confirmed by the Police Press and Public relations Officer, Inspector Lyndon David.

    According to sources, at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Friday (Oct. 18), an unidentified man shot Peetes behind his right ear and right thigh just a few metres outside his home and he was taken to the hospital in a privately-owned vehicle.

    The assailant, who was said to be masked and dressed in camouflage clothing, was seen running towards a Ghaut on the western side of the cul-de-sac in his bid to flee the scene.

    Investigations into this incident are ongoing.

    Royden Peetes Jr.’s death has taken to 22 the total homicides committed in the twin-island Federation for the year – 13 on St. Kitts and nine on Nevis.
