BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - WITH Members of the Parliamentary Opposition declaring that they have no confidence in the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Administration, and after filing a Motion since early December 2012 with it not being tabled, it is believed that the next General Elections could be called before 2015.
Six political parties will be contesting these elections whenever they are called, but three of them have merged to form the Unity Movement, which is led by former Senior Minister of Government and Leader of the People’s Labour Party Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, with his Deputies being the People’s Action Movement’s Leader, the Hon. Shawn Richards, and the Hon. Mark Brantley, who is the Deputy Premier of Nevis and also the Deputy Leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement.
Eight seats would be contested on St. Kitts and three on sister isles Nevis.
SKNVibes, in keeping with its role as a member of the Fourth Estate (the people’s watchdog), has decided to compare the candidates of each of the 11 Constituencies representing the parties that will be contesting the elections.
Beginning with Constituency Number Three, the ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party’s candidate is Konris Maynard, while the Unity Concept will be represented by the Hon. Sam Condor and the National Integrity Party (NIP) by Bernard Welsh.
Listed below are the data of the three candidates, which will be updated on a regular basis as more information becomes available.

Plans for Constituency |
Maynard is anxious and ready to tackle West Basseterre community’s issues such as housing, land ownership, agriculture development, community and sporting facilities, cultural expressions, youth opportunity and empowerment, job creation, small business enterprise and alternative energy development. |
Welsh said he is committed to changing St. Kitts and Nevis for the better and has promised a new brand of politics, which is free of corruption. |
The people of West Basseterre once again know they have in Sam Condor a man who is committed to the service of his constituents and all fellow citizens; a man who will give of himself, his experience and his resources fighting for the cause of the people. |
