    Temporary residents found with unlicensed firearms on Nevis

    ~~Adz:Left~~ CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – TWO persons are in police custody after a search of the house in which they reside at Hamilton, Nevis resulted in the find of two unlicensed firearms.

     

    Acting on information received, the lawmen conducted a search of the house earlier today (Jan. 15) and found the two weapons. The occupants of the house are said to be a couple who are citizens of the United States of America.

     

    The weapons were seized and the couple was taken into custody. SKNVibes will bring more on this story as it develops.

     

    This discovery has taken the number of firearms found on Nevis for the year to six.

     

    On Saturday, January10, 18-year-old Kishaun ‘Boogie’ Merchant was shot by the police after he opened fire on them during a routine patrol in Charlestown. While a search of his person realised one 45mm pistol with five matching rounds of ammunition, another search of the immediate area in which he was shot realised one Mac-10 9mm pistol and 14 rounds of ammunition.

     

    A later search at daylight resulted in the find of one .38 Revolver with six rounds of ammunition and a .22 Revolver with five rounds of ammunition.
