BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE man whose lifeless body was discovered on the premises of the St. Kitts Marriott’s Sewage Plant earlier today (Nov. 5) has been identified.
SKNVibes has been reliably informed that he is Brian Liddie, who is said to be in his early 40s.
Employees of the Sewage Plant – this publication was told – arrived for work at or shortly after 6:00 a.m. and were informed by another individual that Liddie was laid out at the back of an incomplete structure on a piece of plywood.
This publication understands that both the deceased and the individual who found him make a living by retrieving golf balls from the water hazards and selling them to individuals who use the golf course.
“He (the deceased) doesn’t work for the Marriott. A second guy who looks for balls as well said he saw the guy behind there and he wasn’t moving. So we went and we checked. We touched him and we realised he was cold. He was dead. His clothes were scattered behind there. He was lying on a plyboard…”
Further information gathered by SKNVibes indicates that police officers of the Frigate Bay Outpost were summoned to the scene and arrived there at approximately 6:45 a.m.
District Medical Officer Dr. Mervin Laws was also summoned to the scene and pronounced the man dead sometime after 7:00. However, the Crime Scene Unit did not arrive on scene until more than an hour and a half after the first responders.
Whether or not foul play is suspected is unknown to this media house; however, investigations are well underway.
Attempts were made to contact the Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David to ask about the incident but, on all occasions, this publication was greeted by the voicemail attendant.
