Taxi drivers win big in Caribelle Batik Raffle

From a field of 143 registrants, nine lucky taxi drivers won an array of prizes donated by the clothing company.

Although their names were revealed on Tuesday (Jan. 13), the winners did not officially receive their prizes until yesterday’s brief ceremony at Caribelle Batik’s outlet in Old Road.

The grand prize winner was Hyacinth Warner and she won a 22-inch flat screen television. Second-place winner Basil Spice received a 12-inch flat screen television while third-place finisher Vincent Joseph won a CD player.

Other winner were Carlton Browne, who received a radio; Frankie Lawrence was presented a car cleaning gift set; Everton Delaney got an armour gift set; James Woodley won a CD Radio; Leo Christopher hugged a CD Player; and George Richards took a microwave to his kitchen.

Sales and Marketing Manager Jamilia Brazier thanked the taxi drivers for their years of collaboration with Caribelle Batik and stressed the significance of the partnership.    ~~Adz:Right~~

“When Caribelle Batik began 32 years ago, it was an unknown destination and it is now internationally known. This status would not have been possible without the help of the taxi drivers who bring business to us and we in return give business to them,” she said.

On behalf of the taxi drivers, Warner thanked the company for the opportunity to achieve such rewards and tokens of appreciation.

“Caribelle Batik is a wonderful, beautiful place and we will continue to sell the place to tourists visiting our shores,” said the appreciative winner.
