Press Release

BRADES, Montserrat (November 6, 2013) – Montserrat is being represented at the annual Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference and Operations Summit by David Crichton, Director of Investment Promotions and the Montserrat Development Corporation (MDC).

Crichton is attending the two-day event in the Dominican Republic to observe and connect with others in the hotel and resort investment industry across the region.

“Opportunities and Challenges Facing the Caribbean Hospitality and Tourism Sectors” is the theme of the event which is the first joint production between HVS Caribbean, the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA), and the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO).  According to the event website, “In this strong new partnership, the region’s premier event will discuss opportunities for hotel and resort investment, development, and acquisition.

The third annual HVS Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference & Operations Summit (CHICOS) will provide a productive forum to address issues pertinent to the current needs of the Caribbean hospitality sector and to discuss the various opportunities for investors in the Caribbean.”

Crichton noted it was important to understand what types of properties and products investors were looking at in order to market Montserrat as an attractive option for investing. He added that going forward the MDC was taking a more focused and assertive approach to finding investors who are interested in the types of opportunities being created here.
