BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young woman was earlier this evening (Nov. 6) hospitalised following a traffic accident on Cunningham Street in McKnight within the vicinity of the Five Ways Junction.

On arrival at the scene, SKNVibes learned that the accident had involved an omnibus, HA326, driven by Kirt Douglas of Sandy Point, and Shamica Phipps of the Gardens Housing Project in Basseterre.

This media house was told that at about 6:30 p.m., HA326 was travelling south along Cunningham Street when it struck Phipps who was crossing the street from the western side.

The 26-year-old was taken by ambulance to the JNF Hospital, where she was admitted. However, apart from bruises and abrasions, her injuries could not have been ascertained at the time.

A member of the Traffic Department was at the scene conducting investigations but this media house was unable to glean any information from him.

More on this incident in a subsequent article as information becomes available.
