Kittitian Ken Clifton re-elected US Town Councillor in election landslide

Press Release

Randolph Town Hall, Randolph, MA, November 6th, 2013 - Town Councillor Ken Clifton was returned to office with a resounding victory in the town council elections held November 5, 2013.

In the preliminary count, Councillor Clifton romped to victory with an overwhelming 73% of the votes.  His opponent, Health Board official and a veteran of past elections, Mark Kittredge, garnered 22% of the votes cast.

“I am truly humbled and honored that, once again, my fellow citizens have entrusted me with their confidence and I express my deepest gratitude,” said Clifton.  “I want to make it clear, however, that it is my obligation and desire to be the representative of all the people, whether or not you voted for me,” the victorious Councillor continued.

The now three-term Councilman commended his opponent and wished him and his family well in their future endeavors.

“There are no victors and no losers,” said Clifton.  “We are all members of this community and it is important that we come together to continue to build a community that is vibrant and prosperous for all our residents,” he remarked.

Looking to the future, Councillor Clifton said there are many challenges ahead.  He said fighting the Holbrook Transfer Station dump site, improving our schools, making taxes affordable, fixing our roads, ensuring safe homes and streets and providing services to our seniors, veterans and our youth, are all issues to be tackled.

“Working together in a collaborative manner, there are no obstacles that we cannot overcome,” suggested Councillor Clifton.

“I am indebted to my family and friends, campaign workers, supporters, my district and the entire community of Randolph for this unique opportunity to serve and to give back to my community and country,” concluded Councillor Clifton.

Councillor Clifton also extended his gratitude to his fellow nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis for their support, encouragement and goodwill extended through social media and other avenues.
