Digicel KickStart Boys Ready for Barbados

Digicel KickStart 2013 Academy Participants

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, November 7th 2013 – Teenagers Geovannie Lake, Yohannes Mitchum and Devaughni Nisbett are all amped and ready to travel to Bridgetown, Barbados this Sunday to represent St. Kitts and Nevis in the 2013 Digicel KickStart Academy in association with Chelsea FC.

     

    The annual KickStart Academy is scheduled to take place November 11-15 and is an intensive football workshop where the boys will meet other young footballers from other Digicel Caribbean territories. Training will be provided by coaches from the famous Chelsea Football Club and will include Technical Proficiency, Tactical Approach, Defensive& Attacking Principles. On Saturday, 16th November, the Academy scholars will then compete in the Kick Start Tournament, which will be followed by presentations & the closing ceremony.There will also be scouts at the camp, which may open many doors and possible scholarships for the boys in their football careers. 

     

    While at the camp, the boys will not only be engaged in football but will also take part in a home work group every night to keep them abreast with school work & complete assignments while away. Digicel St Kitts & Nevis is keen on making meaningful contributions to the development of its nation’s children and is happy to provide such an avenue for these three young boys to foster growth both academically and physically through Sports. 

     

    In a Digicel Facebook video blog, Journalist Andre Huie from WINN FM 98.9, congratulated the selected footballers, “This is great opportunity to interact with other players from around the Caribbean and learn life skills as well as football skills.I’m sure they will have a great time and make the best of it.” Huie continued, “I recommend the Digicel KickStart Academy to any upcoming footballer who will have that opportunity.”

     

    Lake, Mitchum and Nisbett depart for Barbados on Sunday 10th November and will be accompanied by Digicel’s Marketing Assistant, Tishanna Jeffers.
