BASSETERRE St. Kitts, Tuesday 05th November 2013 - Forty-two years since the debut of National Carnival, its organizers are committed to continue building its brand and buzz. Thus far, plans have been productive for thisyear’s festivities.
“Extremely successful” were the words used by Mr. Sylvester Anthony, Chairman of the National Carnival Committee about a series of meeting that were held with stakeholders in preparation for the official opening of Sugar Mas 42 Slated for Friday 22nd November 2013.
In a release issued by the National Carnival Committee (NCC), Mr. Anthony confirmed that plans were far advanced for this year’s event. Meetings have been held with musical bands, sound systems and j’ouvert troupes.
On Monday 04th November 2013, the (NCC) Chairman met with Calypsonians and Soca Monarch Artistes at NEMA Conference Centre. On Tuesday 05th November 2013, a similar meeting was held with the street
vendors and concessionaires at the NEMA venue.
Additionally, Mr. Anthony has also announced a soft launch for Sugar Mas 42, slated for Saturday 09th November, 2013. This launch will create an explosive start to the upcoming Carnival Season and will provide an opportunity to sensitize the general public, sponsors, participants and the media about plans for this year’s festivities.
The event commences at 4:00 p.m. at Palm Court Gardens, Fortlands Basseterre at which the general public are invited. The launch will celebrate the art of music, culture, and heritage of the Federation and will also include addresses by the Minister of Culture and the National Carnival Chairman.
Other highlights will include the unveiling of this year’s slogan and jingle along with the official release of the action packed calendar of activities.
