BASSETERRE St. Kitts, November 13th, 2013 -- On Saturday 9th November 2013, members of the Engineering Profession in the federation met at the N.E.M.A. Headquarters, St Kitts.
The purpose of the meeting was to elect an Executive Council.
The St Kitts-Nevis Association of Professional Engineers was formed in 1980 and functioned for a number of years representing the interests of Engineers.
In recognition of the role of the Engineer in the development of any society and more so in a developing society such as ours, it has become urgent for the Association to be revitalized.
Therefore in recognition of the need for an Association to protect the interests of Engineers, Members of the Engineering Profession elected an Executive Council on Saturday 9th November 2013.
The Executive Council is the governing body of the Association and is responsible for its policies, organization, administration and discipline.
The members elected to the Executive Council are:
President - R. A. Peter Jenkins, Civil Engineer
Vice President - Fitzgerald Boncamper, Civil Engineer
Secretary - Richard Caines Jnr, Cost Engineer
Treasurer - Carolyn Brown, Civil Engineer
Member - Bertil Browne, Electrical Engineer
Member - Lester Blackette, Civil Engineer
The Members of the Council will serve for a period of one year.
Thanks are due to Lawyer Hesketh Benjamin for taking the time to ensure that all legal matters pertaining to the conduct of the elections were addressed.
We would also like to thank Engineers Errol Douglas, Nubian Greaux, Authurlyn Belle and Calvin James for serving on the Interim Committee, whose work facilitated the holding of elections.
Thanks are also due to the membership of the Association.
The Association of Professional Engineers of St Kitts-Nevis intends to work with all stakeholders in the interest of the development of St Kitts-Nevis and the Engineering Profession.
